Case Study
Project:  Window Washing Tie-Back Anchor Load Test
Client HSBC

Height Works was engaged to execute a window washing tie-back anchor load test project on the HSBC building in Calgary, Alberta.  This load test project was part of a compliance initiative HSBC’s parent company was undertaking to achieve annual certification to ensure Standard compliance (CSA Z91 and Z271 Standards).

This project consisted of existing through-bolted wall anchors, pocket wall anchors, and stanchion anchors used for suspended access window washing operations. Height Works proof load tested all anchors to fifty percent of their intended design load and produced an engineer certified field report indicating test results and recommending these anchors for continued service.

Upon successful completion of the window washing tie-back anchor load test project, Height Works was able to provide HSBC with a strategy that met their parent company’s goals.  Through a five-year load testing combined with annual inspection and certification strategy, Height Works provided the HSBC building with continued and validated confidence in their suspended access anchor points.
